Brazil: Watch Tower claim raid on premises unlawful

in september 2019, the branch of jehovah’s witnesses and a number of kingdom halls in são paulo brazil were raided by the police, in search of documentary evidence of criminal activities relating to child sexual abuse.

the jehovah’s witnesses claim that the raid was unlawful.

After reading this it reminds me of a BOE letter we received back in the 90's about police raids on the kingdom hall. It gave us complete details on keeping the police from the elders file cabinet. To the point of stalling the police by questioning them on the search warrant, calling the wt. lawyers, locking the doors to the file cabinet and if we have to physically hide or secretly get the files out of the hall.

Of course back then I believe it was a righteous warfare. Now I know the real reason. Still Totally ADD

Do JWs believe that animals were created to live in harmony? Lion and the lamb

thanks to all who replied to my first post, i appreciate you taking the time to do so.. i left jws for my own reasons as a teenager as i just simply didn’t believe it .

i am enjoying playing catch up with all the information out there now showing multiple examples of false prophecies , covering up the truth and the jw broadcasting stuff is amazing ( as said before i’ve just ignored the organisation for 30 years ) , it’s totally brainwashing evangelical propaganda.. however i digress .... as a young kid i used to ask , “if in paradise the “ lion will lay with lamb “ and all creatures will live in harmony, why for example does a snake have venom if not to eat another creature ?”.

like i say i was 10 years old i remember so please excuse the childish question.. but do they actually believe that was gods original plan for animals ?

Maybe it was just wishful thinking on the part of the bible writers. Unlike today nature was all around them trying to kill or eat them. So in their wishful thinking they wrote of a time when animals would do no harm to humans. Nothing like a fantasy becoming a mainstream teaching for a cult. Still Totally ADD

recently black lives matter representatives have encouraged people to spit in law enforcement officials foods.

some people are going into police stations and trying to kill innocent officers.

federal officials are marked for death because they try to administer the law.. what is your opinion of this type of lawlessness?.

LV101 It sadddens me how unhappy you are. Your thought process is only going to make you sick. Come up with solutions instead of blaming everyone who does not agree with you. You will be a much happier person. Besides 100 years from now no one will give a damm about what we thought. Take care. Still Totally ADD.

PS. Yes I do support the police and law enforcement. Few years back they saved us from a murderer.

Why do Americans have to pay so much for College???

i know there is a huge college/university lobby here in the us that lives off of students paying, in some cases, enormous amounts of money just to attend.. putting politics aside, if that is possible, (and i am not a bernie sanders guy by any means), but how can we pay for pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, elementary school, junior high, high school, and then throw a huge debt to someone who wants to continue learning?

can't the us (public and state universities) afford four more years for young people to get on a career path without having to, in some cases, take out a mortgage/loan more than the cost of some homes?

then, (and nothing against immigrants, i am married to one), but then the us has to "import" students from other countries to fill the needs that we should be supplying here.

Littlerockguy that may be so but today alot of these religious organizations have very fundamental beliefs which keeps the kids from learning the world around them. Such as the earth is only 6000 years old. Also by the time I was in public school our text books didn't come from a faith organization. They even stop prayer when I was in grade school.

I don't know who you are but welcome to the forum and a simple reason on what I may be wrong on is sufficient. Using a sledgehammer statement of doing my homework is not necessary. To begin with when this easy money loans for college began who didn't see this coming? With all this easy money greed set in. College cost started climbing and climbing to were what was once affordable or at lease manageable is now ridiculously high. High schools should also offer more vocational training in areas that are most needed in the job market. As a examle what use to be low wage jobs in construction are now good paying jobs and are in great demand. Private schools is not the answer because most are run by religious organizations or some upstart private organizations. Both put mind control teachings or are so greedy they screw everyone involved. Can't begin to tell you how many in our area got caught with their hand in the cookie jar and closed down.

The back bone for education in this country has always been public schools. Need to keep religion out of it! Those who are college bound, more power to them. Those who are not give them good vocational training were the jobs are. That's my thoughts anyway. Still Totally ADD

Sea Breeze do you know what congrgation received this letter? I do know as a elder in FL we were taught we had elder/ publishers privilege. Similar to a priest/lay person privilege. All so called confessions were considered privilege information and could be keep from outside authorities. I have been out of the loop for over 9 years so because of the child abuse issues it may have changed. Your letter is from 28 years ago but as far as I know was enforced up to the time I left. I have been living in this area since 2011. Lili Dale is pretty much a one horse town. But what a beautiful area to live in. Nice warm summers, colorful falls. The winters are really snowy. Close to 200 inches a year on a bad winter and like this year close to 60 to 90 inches. Crystals, fortune tellers, drum circles and many lectures on the were are the dead. They have a big festival there every year.

I don't know why the borg will not let the flock witness there. Maybe they are afraid they might be made into thinking people. Lol. Still Totally ADD
